We are proud to announce that Straight Skate has been selected as the Volunteer Business of the Year for 2007 by the Volunteer Center of the Coastal Bend. The 2007 Star Award was announced at a banquet on Thursday, November 15, 2007.

This prestigious award is given annually to individuals, groups and a business in the Corpus Christi area that have made an outstanding contribution to the community.

We were fortunate to be nominated by the Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department for our activities in connection with the organization of the SK8 Del Sol skate contest, our shop's ongoing participation with the free youth skateboarding classes at Cole Park and supporting events at the Oso Community Center.

These activities are part of our Straight Skate's ongoing commitment to support skateboarding, give back to the community and to create new activities and more events for skaters.
